Julia Ryan earned first-team All-West Region honors for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team, while goalkeeper

Grace Minturn earned second-team honors, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced today.
Ryan led the nation by a huge margin in draw controls per game, winning 19.2, well ahead of Clare Connolly of Babson, who was second with 12.2. She helped CMS tie a Division III record with 34 draw controls in a win over Whittier (while losing none), with Ryan earning 30 of the draws herself. She also had 31 draw controls in a win over Occidental, and 27 in a game against nationally ranked Colorado College, while contributing 11 goals and five assists on the year as well.
Shankle had a .514 save percentage on the year, and an 11-7 record in goal for the Athenas, earning first-team All-SCIAC honors. She had a career-high 20 saves against Pomona-Pitzer, and added 15 saves in a rematch with Pomona-Pitzer in the SCIAC Championships, as well as in a game against nationally ranked Chicago.
Teare was a defensive leader for CMS, earning all-region honors for the second year in a row. She had a team-high 22 caused turnovers and 25 ground balls on the year, with a season-high four caused turnovers and four ground balls against nationally Trinity, while matching the four ground balls in a game against Pomona-Pitzer and adding three caused turnovers in the SCIAC Championship against the Sagehens.
Minturn led the Athenas offensively with 63 points on 39 goals and 24 assists, while also pulling in a team-high 27 ground balls. She had 10 points in the regular season finale against Redlands (seven goals, three assists), which secured the No. 2 seed for the Athenas in the SCIAC Tournament. She also had three goals in an overtime defeat to Pomona-Pitzer in the regular season, and earns All-Region honors for the second season in a row.
CMS finished the year with a 12-7 record, with all seven defeats coming to nationally ranked teams. By earning All-Region accolades, Ryan, Shankle, Teare, and Minturn are now eligible for All-America honors, which will be announced next week.
