GENEVA, Ohio -
Josephine Jett of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field team earned first-team All-America honors with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the SPIRE Institute.
Jett finished with a time of 13.98, just .02 off her CMS record, which she set earlier this season. She finished three-thousandths of a second ahead of Hannah Zastrow of Wisconsin-Stout, who finished seventh. Aryianna Garceau of UMass-Boston won the title with a time of 13.54.
Jett becomes the first Athena to win All-America honors in the 100 hurdles since Katie Ray came in seventh place in 2002. Caroline DelVecchio was a two-time All-American in the 400-meter hurdles in 2022 and 2023, finishing sixth and fifth, respectively.
Jett also ran in the 100 meters at the NCAA Championships and finished in 18th place, while
Sophia Laudi threw in the javelin on Thursday and also finished 18th.
Both Jett and Laudi will be back next season as the Athenas will try to defend their SCIAC title and send more qualifiers to the national championships.
