CLAREMONT, Calif. - Reid Jones of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's basketball team earned the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week Award for games through Sunday, Jan. 11, the conference office announced today. 

Jones had seven steals, two blocks and 12 defensive rebounds, as CMS remained perfect on the year with a pair of home wins over Occidental and Chapman. He had four steals, a block, and five defensive rebounds in the Oxy win, and followed up with three steals, a block and seven defensive rebounds in the Chapman win.

Jones now has won the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week award three times this season. He has had over 10 steals in a game three times this year, including 13 in a win over Puget Sound at the David Wells Classic. 

CMS, which stands at 14-0 on the year, will be back in action on Wednesday at Cal Lutheran for a 4 p.m. contest, as the Stags will try to match the best start in school history (15-0), set by the 2011-12 team.
