CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Isla Duncan of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's cross country team earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor for events through Sunday, Oct. 4, the conference office announced today.
Duncan finished in 13th place to lead five Athenas in the top 100 (out of 324 runners), as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's cross country team finished seventh of 35 teams at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals on Saturday. Duncan finished in 21:46.9 to earn the top time among the SCIAC teams in the competition.
It marks the second time in as many events that Duncan has captured the SCIAC honor. In her last race two weeks ago, she tied for the fourth-fastest time in CMS history at the UC Riverside Invitational to take SCIAC Athlete of the Week distinction.
CMS will be back in action this weekend when it competes at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational this Saturday.
