CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team had the top collegiate finishers in six different events at the Salo & Crenna Invitational hosted by Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
Evan Siegel earned the win in the first track event of the day, taking the 110-meter hurdles in 15.20.
Jacob Pippel was the top collegiate runner in the second event, the 3000 meters, crossing in 8:26.96.
Ellis DelVecchio took first place in the 400 meters, coming in just under 50 seconds at 49.94.
Richard Burrow then added another middle-distance win with a 1:57.98 in the 800 meters, and
Hayden Beauchemin added a fifth win on the track with a first-place finish in the mile with a 4:12.62.
Kaden Cassidy, who finished second at the NCAA Division III Championships last year in the hammer throw at 210 feet even, picked up where he left off by nearly reaching 200 feet in his first competition, winning with a distance of 199'7" (60.85 meters).
Kavin Prasanna was second as well with a throw of 180'1" (54.89 meters).
Pippel was followed in the 3000 meters by
Jonas Rickert (8:34.30) and
Jerry Xu (8:37.46) in third and fourth (second and third among collegians).
Brennan Tobin (eighth) and
Rowan Haywood-O'Neill (tenth) were in the top 10 overall, and
Charlie Routledge (12th) finishing eighth among NCAA entrants.
In other field events,
Grady Johnson was second in the shot put at 46'10.75" (14.29) meters, followed by Prasanna in third at 14 meters even (45'11.25").
Jonathan Holcombe was fourth in the long jump for the Stags at 21'1.75" (6.44 meters).
Cian Bryant came in fourth in the javelin at 163'9" (49.91 meters), and Cassidy added a fifth place finish in the discus, with James Campagna seventh.
On the track,
Max Baricevic earned fifth in the 400 meters at 51.82.
Jaden Rattay was fifth in the 100 at 11.17, with
Dylan Dimond sixth in 11.23 seconds.
