CLAREMONT, Calif. - Madeleine Kan of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Swimmer of the Week Award for events through Sunday, Feb. 8, the conference office announced today. 

Kan set personal bests in both the 100 free and the 200 free to move into the top three in CMS history in both events, while finishing first at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. Her 51.27 in the 100 now ranks third at CMS and her 1:51.18 places her second in CMS history. 

Sun Young Byun has also won the Swimmer of the Week honor from the SCIAC twice this season, while Simone Sabeeh has four Diver of the Week honors, and Josie Kearns has one. 

CMS will be back in action at the SCIAC Championships from Feb. 18-21 at East LA College.
