Ellis DelVecchio finished third in the 800 meters, and
Hayden Beauchemin earned sixth in the 5000 meters, to highlight the performance of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic.
DelVecchio earned a 1:51.91 in the 800 meters, just behind Gerardo Osorio of Southern Nevada (1:51.51) and unattached runner Micah Dickran (1:51.89). Je was over five seconds faster than the next Division III competitor in the 89-runner field.
Jimmy Boyle also came in 35th, just coming in under the two-minute mark in 1:59.88.
Beauchemin came in sixth out of 217 runners in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:28.49.
Jacob Pippel earned 20th in 14:46.45, while
Jonas Rickert (42nd) and
Brennan Tobin (45th) were in the top 50.
Matthew Jabro was 12th out of 130 runners in the 1500 meters, finishing in 4:02.33.
Daniel Voyles was top 20 in 4:05.45, amd Eion O'Connell was in the top 30 (28th) in 4:07.03.
CMS will be back in action when it competes in the Redlands Invitational on Friday.
