REDLANDS, Calif. -
Jordan LaCour had four goals and
Christina Marlow added three as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's water polo team earned a 14-4 road win at Redlands on Wednesday evening.
With the win, CMS moves to 11-10 on the season, including 7-1 in the SCIAC. Redlands slips to 4-17 overall and 2-6 in league play with the defeat.
CMS opened up with the game's first five goals, with LaCour scoring twice in the first quarter, sandwiching goals from
Valerie Wraith and
Jasmine Tang.
Athena Mor made it 5-0 with a second-quarter goal, and
Grace Clark scored with 29 seconds left in the half to put the Athenas ahead 6-1 at intermission.
Marlow scored all three goals for the Athenas in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 9-2 after three, and LaCour scored twice in the fourth, with
Isabel Del Villar adding two, and
Grace Rich closing out the scoring.
Natalie Stearns had 10 saves for the Athenas to get the win in goal, while also adding three steals.
Jayden Ching had two field blocks defensively.
CMS will be back in action at home this weekend to take on Caltech on Saturday at 11 a.m., which will also serve as Senior Day for the program's eight seniors.
