Evan Siegel of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team moved into eighth place in program history in the decathlon with 5809 points at the Bryan Clay Multis on Thursday and Friday.
Siegel becomes the first member of the Stags to crack the top 10 in the decathlon since 2013, when Alex Krall tallied 6065 points to place fifth all-time. Matt Roberson, a two-time national champion in the event, holds the program record with 7188 points.
Siegel's times in the track events included an 11.10 in the 100 meters, 53.02 in the 400 meters, 15.17 in the 110-meter hurdles, and 5:14.88 in the 1500 meters.
In the field events, Siegel's marks 6.40 meters in the long jump, 1.77 meters in the high jump, 2.80 meters in the pole vault, 11.09 meters in the shot put, 29.27 meters in the discus, and 36.89 meters in the javelin.
CMS will be back in action this weekend on Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
