Pierce Clark Takes SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week Accolades for Stags

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Pierce Clark of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team earned the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week Award for events through Sunday, April 5, the league office announced today.

Clark ran the second-fastest 800 meter time in NCAA Division III competition so far this season with a 1:50.37 at the UCSD Triton Invitational. Clark was the top collegiate finisher at the event (behind only one unattached runner) and took a tenth of a second off of his own personal best, moving up one spot to fifth in CMS history.

Clark becomes the third different weekly winner for the Stags this season, joining Kaden Cassidy, who earned the SCIAC Field Athlete of the Week after winning the hammer throw at the Redlands Invitational, and Jaden Rattay, who won the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week after the OIDFE Challenge.

CMS will be back in action on Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
