CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team will send 11 student-athletes to the NCAA Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin next week, after the NCAA released its selections today.
Kaden Cassidy is the top seed in the hammer throw to lead the 11-member contingent for the Stags, and will be joined in the hammer by
Kavin Prasanna.
Jaden Rattay will also participate in two events, the 400 meters and the 4x400 relay, where he qualified with
Richard Burrow,
Aiden Owens and
Oliver Thompson.
The Stags will have two runners in both the 800 meters, where
Ellis DelVecchio and
Pierce Clark earned their way back after competing last year, and the 1500 meters, where both
Jonas Rickert and
Hayden Beauchemin earned their tickets to Wisconsin.
Jacob Pippel earned a spot in the steeplechase for CMS as well.
The NCAA Championships will get underway on Thursday, with prelims in the 1500 meters, the steeplechase and the 4x400 relay. Friday prelims will include the 400 meters and the 800 meters, as well as the finals in the steeplechase, while the other finals will be on Saturday, along with the hammer throw.
