CLAREMONT, Calif. - Katy Shaw of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Swimmer of the Week Award for meets through Sunday, Nov. 3, the conference office announced today. 

Shaw earned the honor after helping CMS to dual wins over both Whittier and Chapman in its first SCIAC meet of the year. Shaw won all three meets she competed in, sweeping the 200 free, the 500 free and the 1000 free to help the Athenas earn a pair of lopsided victories. 

Shaw becomes the second Athena in as many meets to win the Swimmer of the Week honor, after Mackenzie Mayfield earned it after an opening-day meet at UC San Diego. 

CMS will be back in action this weekend when it travels to Caltech for a 10:30 a.m. meet.
