CLAREMONT, Calif. - Josie Kearns of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Diver of the Week Award for meets through Sunday, Jan. 11, the conference office announced today. 

Kearns earned wins on both boards as CMS opened the calendar year with a dual sweep of Occidental. She had a 452.00 on the 1-meter to edge out teammate Simone Sabeeh by almost 16 points, and then added a win over Sabeeh in the three-meter with 276.50 points to Sabeeh's 258.40.

The Athenas have now won the Diver of the Week three times, with Sabeeh previously winning twice. Sun Young Byun has also earned the SCIAC Swimmer of the Week Award for CMS. 

The Athenas will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to La Verne for a double dual with Cal Lutheran and the host Leopards.
