CLAREMONT, Calif. - First-year diver
Simone Sabeeh of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Diver of the Week Award for meets through Sunday, Dec. 7, the conference office announced today.
Sabeeh swept both boards in a two-day dual with Pomona-Pitzer on Friday and Saturday. She earned first place in the three-meter on Friday, setting a new meet record in the Pomona-Pitzer dual by breaking 300 points over her six dives. Sabeeh's 301.50 broke the previous meet record of 289.70, set by Carli Lessard of the Athenas in 2017. She then led a 1-2-3 finish in the one-meter board on Saturday, with
Josie Kearns finishing second and
Meilan Uyeno taking third.
Sabeeh earned the SCIAC Diver of the Week Award for the third time already this season.She is a perfect 8-for-8 in her collegiate career, sweeping the one-meter and three-meter in all four meets she has competed in during her first semester with the Athenas.
CMS will be back in action when it resumes competition after the new year, following a break for finals and the holidays.
