REDLANDS, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team won all 16 events as it closed out the regular season with a win over Redlands at the Thompson Aquatics Center.
Mackenzie Mayfield set a pool record in the 200 fly with a time of 2:05.90 and also added a win in the 200 IM in 2:09.57.
Annika Sharma,
Milan Manfredi, Mayfield and
Madeleine Kan opened with a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:47.83, which also set a new pool record.
Kan (100 fly in 59.86, 50 free in 25.05), and
Kelly Prawira (100 breast in 1:07.64, 200 breast in 2:24.11) also won two individual events for CMS, which closed out the SCIAC regular season at 7-1.
Revere Schmidt took the 1000 free in 10:42.18, with
Avalon Sanders second, while Sanders came back with a win in the 500 in 5:13.00 for as distance sweep, with
Katy Shaw second.
Nika Makhervaks took first in the 100 back in 1:00.64, with
Caitlin Kuhlmann coming in second, while
Anna Werts won the 200 back in 2:09.99, followed by Sharma in second, who was also second to Kan in the 50 free.
Allison Nguyen won the 200 free in 1:59.24, edging out Shaw, before coming in second to Prawira in the 200 breast.
Sun Young Byun won the 100 free in 54.27, with
Aanya Kongettira taking second place and
Praise Okodogbe coming in third. Byun was also second to Mayfield in the 200 fly and 200 IM.
The Athenas won both diving events, with
Alexis Romero winning the one-meter with 266.85 points, followed by
Anna Zeren in second with 264.00 and
Meilan Uyeno third with 259.50.
Izzy Doud won the three-meter with 295.58 points, with
Josie Kearns second with 275.93 and Uyeno third.
CMS capped off the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, as Sharma, Sanders,
Annette Chang and Kan earned a 3:37.94.
CMS will be back in action next weekend at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational before concluding the regular season at home for the CMS Invitational on Feb. 8.
