LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
Mackenzie Mayfield came in second place in the 100 fly,
Annika Sharma was third in the 100 back, and
Kelly Prawira took third in the 100 breast to earn All-SCIAC honors on the third day of the SCIAC Championships at East Los Angeles Swim Stadium.
The Athenas slipped into second place with one day to go, trailing Pomona-Pitzer by 84 points (714-630).
Mayfield, who won the 200 IM yesterday by two-hundredths of a second, was the highest finisher for the Athenas on Friday, coming in second in the 100 fly in 55.01. That time moves her up from from seventh in CMS history to fourth, just .25 off the program record held by Katelyn Dang.
Sun Young Byun (fourth) and
Madeleine Kan (fifth) also qualified for the finals for CMS.
Prawira took third in the 100 breast in 1:04.93, while
Milan Manfredi was also on the finals and came in fifth place. Sharma swam a 57.42 in the 100 back to come in third, with
Samantha Ennis taking fourth, and
Nika Makhervaks earning her way into the final before coming in eighth.
The 400-yard medley relay team of Sharma, Prawira, Mayfield and Kan finished in 3:47.44 to come in second place and earn All-SCIAC honors.
Revere Schmidt (fourth),
Molly Beetner (fifth) and
Allison Nguyen (seventh) were finalists in the 400 IM, while
Katy Shaw (fourth) and
Avalon Sanders (eighth) her finalists in the 200 free.
The final day gets underway with 9 a.m. prelims, followed by 5 p.m. finals, which will start with
Katy Shaw trying to defend her league title in the 1650.
