Jessie Kong tied for individual medalist honors with a 74 as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team opened its spring schedule with wins over Redlands and Hope International in a Tri-Match at Via Verde.
Esther Lee finished third,
Christine Yu fourth and
Emily Zhou and
Stella Cheng tied for fifth for CMS, which shot 308 as a team, finishing seven shots ahead of Redlands with a 315 and HIU at 338.
Kong and Rena Kaneko of Redlands tied with a 74 (+2), which was three shots ahead of third. Lee, Yu, Zhou, Cheng and
Ella Chiu all shot within three shots of each other as the Athenas showcased their balance.
So far this season, CMS has won the California State Intercollegiate, and captured a dual win with La Verne, while also finishing third at the Redlands Invitational.
CMS will be back in action next Saturday when it faces La Verne in the Jim Follingstad Classic.
