Jamison Tan Closes Strong with Two Straight 70s at Jekyll Island Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - Jamison Tan shook off a slow start to record back-to-back 70s (-2) on Saturday and Sunday on the final two rounds of the Jekyll Island Invitational, moving up 43 spots on Sunday to finish 56th out of 150. 

As a team, CMS finished 23rd out of 30 at +37 over the 54-hole tournament. 

Tan had four birdies and two bogeys on Sunday, carding a birdie on his 17th hole (No. 8), after tallying three birdies and only one bogey on Saturday. Yuefeng (Michael) Ma had an eagle on No. 15 as part of his 74 on Sunday.

Ryan Liang opened the tournament with a 70 on Friday with a steady round that featured his only bogey on the second hole, followed by three birdies and 13 pars over his final 16.

Jack Rende had a 73 on Saturday, that featured him closing at -4 over his final 10 holes, including three straight birdies on No. 18, No. 1 and No. 2. Kevin Jiang also had a five-birdie effort on Saturday while shooting a 75. 

CMS will be back in action in two weeks when it competes at SCIAC No. 2, its final tune-up before the SCIAC Championships in late April.
