CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Skye Dunn of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps volleyball team earned the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week Award for matches through Sunday, Oct. 11, the conference office announced today.
Dunn had 42 digs combined as CMS split five-setters against No. 18 Babson and undefeated Azusa Pacific. Her 25 digs against APU broke her previous career high of 19 set last year as a freshman against Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
On Saturday, Dunn added 17 more digs in a five-set comeback win against Babson as the Athenas rallied from 2-0 down for the dramatic win. She then saw limited action in a sweep of Caltech Saturday afternoon.
Dunn became the first SCIAC weekly award winner for the Athenas this season. She and CMS will be back in action tomorrow night for a big SCIAC road contest at Redlands before returning home to face Occidental on Thursday night.
