CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Josephine Jett won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.10 seconds and
Sophia Laudi came in first in the javelin at 138'3" to highlight the performance of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field team on Saturday at the Rossi Relays.
The distance medley relay team of
Riley Capuano,
Katie Cooper,
Chloe Gudas and
Elle Marsyla finished second behind California Baptist in 11:52.06, which was just off the program record of 11:51.20.
Luna Young, Jett,
Shriya Velichala and
Sydney Behrens came in fourth in the 4x100 relay in 47.92, which places them No. 6 in CMS history.
Laudi was just five inches off her own CMS record in the javelin, which she set last week at Pomona-Pitzer after first breaking it a year ago on her way to qualifying for nationals.
Emily Ortiz came in fourth place in the discus at 139'4" (42.47 meters) and fourth in the hammer at 157'0" (47.87 meters), with Catherine Novy earning seventh in the discus and with
Ellabelle Higgins coming in eighth in the hammer.
Hope Dragseth came in seventh in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:07.20.
Madeline Seifert was third in the pole vault, reaching 3.65 meters (11'11.75").
CMS will be back in action next week when it competes at the first SCIAC Quad Cup hosted by Occidental.
