CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Julia Ryan of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team earned the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week Award for games through Sunday, March 29, the conference office announced today.
CMS dominated possession in a 22-6 win over Willamette and a 25-3 win over Redlands, and Ryan's performance in the draw circle was a big reason why. She had 25 draws in the Willamette win and 27 against Redlands, as CMS outshot Willamette 38-10 and Redlands 39-10. She now averages 19.6 draws per game, well on her way to leading the nation for the second year in a row.
Ryan earned the Offensive Player of the Week honor for the second time this season for the Athenas.
Ella Brown has also earned it after a six-goal performance in a win over Colorado College, while
Lyla Johnston has earned the Defensive Player of the Week as well.
CMS will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Cal Lutheran for another SCIAC contest.
