CLAREMONT, Calif. - Jessie Kong of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team earned the SCIAC Golfer of the Week Award for events through Sunday, March 8, the league office announced this afternoon. 

Kong shot a pair of even-par rounds of 71 to help CMS to a dominant win by 21 strokes at the Westbrook Invitational in Arizona over second-place Redlands. She was -2 on the back nine of her final round to move up to par for the tournament, winning individual medalist honors by two strokes. 

CMS roared out to a 21-shot lead after the first round, shooting even par as a team, while Redlands was second at +21. The Athenas maintained that 21-shot advnatage through the second round, with both CMS and Redlands finishing the second day at an identical +3. 

The Athenas will be back in action when they travel to Georgia to compete in the Jekyll Island Invitational from March 20-22.
