Seifert Solidifies NCAA Chances with PR in Pole Vault at Redlands Final Qualifier

Madeline Seifert's new PR has her in position to qualify for nationals
REDLANDS, Calif. - Madeline Seifert had a new personal best in the pole vault, clearing 12'8" (3.86 meters) to move up to 19th in NCAA Division III this season, at the Redlands Final Qualifier on Thursday.

Seifert's previous best of 3.82 meters, set last week at the Franson Last Chance Meet, would have had her in 23rd place in Division III in the current rankings, just outside the list of 22 to qualify for nationals. Her clearance of 3.86 on her last try at Redlands now has her in position to qualify, pending the final results around the country.

Josephine Jett also had strong times in her final tune-up for nationals, running an 11.88 in the 100 and a 24.68 in the 200. Jett ranks in the top 12 in three events nationally, including the 100 hurdles as well, and is in line to compete in all three at the NCAA Championships.

CMS will await final word on NCAA Invitations this weekend as it looks to send a strong contingent to the NCAA Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin next weekend.
