Stags Tennis Hosts NCAA Division III Regional Friday and Saturday

The Stags will try to make it back to nationals for the 15th straight season
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis program will serve as the host of the NCAA Division III Regionals this Friday-Saturday at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

Friday will feature a semifinal between Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and East Texas Baptist, while Colorado College and Sewanee will meet in the other semi. The two winners will face each other on Saturday in the regional finals, for the right to advance to the NCAA Division III Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which Sewanee his hosting (CMS hosted last year, and will again next year).

CMS enters the postseason with a 30-1 record, with only a close 4-3 loss to Tufts in the Stag-Hen Championship match on March 21. That loss snapped a 15-match win streak, and the Stags have now won 15 in a row for the second time.

Last weekend, CMS earned the SCIAC Championship with a 4-0 win over Pomona-Pitzer to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. The Stags will now try to advance to nationals for the 15th straight season, since it last fell short in 2009 with a regional loss to UC Santa Cruz.

The men's regional will run concurrently with an NCAA Women's Tennis Regional, which will feature an opening round game on Thursday, and then the semifinals and finals on Friday and Saturday. The full schedule is as follows:
