CLAREMONT, Calif. - Henry Wilson and incoming first-year Kristian Sharma of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team defeated top-seeded Luca Pow and Max Exsted 7-6, 4-6, 11-9 at the SoCal Pro Series M15 event, hosted at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center on Wednesday.

Wilson and Sharma earned their first ATP points with the dramatic victory over the top-seeded team featuring two current Division I power conference players. Exsted is entering his sophomore season at USC, while Pow will play his senior season next season at Wake Forest.

Wilson and Sharma advanced to the quarterfinals, where they fell in a tight battle to Division I graduates Matt Kuhar and Henry Lieberman 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday. Kuhar is a 2019 graduate of Bryant and Lieberman played at Charlotte before a graduate season at North Carolina.

Wilson was also in the singles draw, but fell to Bryce Nakashima, who is entering his senior season at Ohio State.

The Biszantz Family Tennis Center hosted the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships, and will host it again in 2027, and was hosting a ProSeries event for the first time. The CMS home facility drew rave reviews, including its new PlayReplay system which was installed this year, making CMS one of only two Division III schools in the country to have electronic line calling.

One of the featured players at the event was Jagger Leach, the son of Hall of Famer Lindsay Davenport, who plays at Stanford.

"This is the nicest 15K in the world," Leach told the USTA after his opening round win. "I mean, the courts are incredible, the facility's great, there's a challenge system. I was just talking to my coach about it. We were blown away. It feels like a Challenger-level tournament."
