CLAREMONT, Calif. - Five members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced this week.
Seniors
Bryce Didrickson,
Blaise Heher and
Aaron Herst were among the five Stags chosen, along with juniors
Alex Henderson and
Rider Gordon. Didrickson earned the honor for the second straight season.Â
The CSC Academic All-District and All-America Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. Nomination for the award requires meeting minimum standards of both athletic participation and cumulative grade point average.Â
The Stags finished the year 35-15, matching the program record for wins in a season, set last year. CMS also won an NCAA Regional for the second year in a row, the first two regional titles in program history, and won a game in the Super Regionals round for the first time this spring. The Stags also won the SCIAC regular season title for the first time since 1990.Â
Didrickson and Henderson, who each earned All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (Henderson first team, Didrickson second team), advanced through to the national Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced later this month.Â
