CLAREMONT, Calif. - Advik Mareedu came back from 5-0 down in the first set tiebreaker to win his fourth straight ITA West Region singles title, 7-6, 6-4 over Drew Goldman of Pomona-Pitzer, and Henry Wilson and Sibi Raja earned a 6-4, 1-6, 10-3 victory in doubles, as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team swept the two major championships on Sunday afternoon at Pomona-Pitzer's Pauley Tennis Complex.

Mareedu extended his winning streak against Division III opponents to 41 in a row, after going 36-0 against DIII opponents last year, sweeping the ITA Cup and the NCAA Division III titles, and he moved into third place in CMS history in career singles wins with 106m behind only Skylar Butts (128) and Warren Wood (111), who also won NCAA Division III singles titles (Wood in 2015, Butts in 2016). Mareedu will next try for his third ITA Cup title in four seasons in Rome, Georgia in two weeks, where he won national titles in 2022 as a first-year, and again in 2024 as a junior.

Mareedu will be joined on the Rome trip by first-years Henry Wilson and Sibi Raja, who took the doubles championship as an unseeded team over top-seeded Goldman and Jayanth Mallampati of Pomona-Pitzer. Wilson and Raja won a tight first set 6-4, and the Sagehen duo responded for a 6-1 in the second, but the Stags quickly regrouped and roared out to a 6-0 lead in the tiebreaker. Pomona-Pitzer fought back to within 6-3, but the Stags were able to win the final four points in a row for the title.

In the singles final, Mareedu opened the match by coming back from 0-40 down to break, but Goldman was able to get back on serve and force it to a tiebreaker. Goldman then took the first five points and needed just two more for the first set, but Mareedu rattled off six in a row to go ahead 6-5. Goldman fought off set points at 6-5, and 7-6, but Mareedu took advantage of the third opportunity.

Goldman had an early break in the second set, and led 3-1, but Mareedu broke at love to knot it back up 3-3. After an exchange of holds, Mareedu broke for a 6-4 win in the second set, and a 2-0 win in the match.

In the doubles semis, Goldman and Mallampati took an 8-7 win over Mareedu and Warren Pham, with a 7-5 score in the tiebreaker, while Wilson and Raja beat teammates Caleb Settles and Brandon Vu, the No. 2 seed and defending ITA West Regional Champions. Wilson and Raja also knocked off the No. 6 seed in the second round, Luke Feng and Leo Rocca of the Sagehens.

Mareedu didn't drop a set on his way to the ITA Singles title, while Warren Pham reached the semifinals and fell to Goldman, denying a second straight Mareedu vs. Pham matchup in the finals. Rohan Yarlagadda reached the quarterfinals with a win over No. 4 seed Gustavo Marcanth of Redlands (4-6, 6-3, 10-7), but then fell in a tight battle to No. 5 seed Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne 4-6, 7-5, 10-7, while Anirudh Gupta reached the quarterfinals and fell to Pham in a Stag vs. Stag battle.

Amrith Kodumuri also earned the championship of the B flight in singles to add to the championship haul for the Stags.

Mareedu, Wilson and Raja will open play at the ITA Cup a week from Thursday, after securing 2025-26 All-America honors with their regional titles. To view all of the ITA West Regional results, go to the following link:
