CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swimming and diving team honored its eight seniors at its final regular season competition, when it hosted the CMS Invitational on Saturday at Axelrood Pool.

Cyrus Gaylord,
Jack Griffith,
Theo Johnson,
Dylan Krueger,
Lucas Lang, and
Grant Stucky before their final meet at Axelrood.
The meet was a non-scoring event, but the Stags put up some strong performances anyway in their final tune-up before the SCIAC Championships later this month. Lang won the 500 free in 4:34.51, as he builds towards repeating as the national champion in the 1650. Johnson won the 50 free in (20.78), while Fitzpatrick (21.35) and Crewe (21.62) added their top times of the season. Griffith broke 500 points in the three-meter dive (512.45) and added a 478.05 in the one-meter, while Gaylord did not compete.
Crewe added a 52.84 in the 100 back, while Krueger was second in the 100 fly in a season-best 50.45. Stucky knocked almost five seconds off his top 200 back time of the year with a 1:55.17 to come in fourth, and also chipped four seconds off his top 200 IM time of 2024-25 with a 1:56.65.
Among non-seniors,
Sean Su swam a 45.19 in the 100 free to move into fifth place all-time in CMS history.
Ethan Sattley won the one-meter in 505.15 and earned 524.65 in the three-meter and to move into fifth at CMS on both boards (with Gaylord third and Griffith fourth).
CMS had two close battles between teammates, as
Alex Davies edged
Kenny Eckel by .06 in the 200 free 1:41.91 to 1:51.97, and
Clarence Cheam took the 200 breast by .03 over
Henry Lyons (2:07.52 to 2:07.55)
Dean Ko earned first place in the 200-yard IM with a 1:52.15,
Jeremy Tan took first in the 100 back in 50.54 and the 200 back in 1:53.57,
Ben Gallegos won the 1650 in 16:13.29, and Eckel won the 100 IM In 50.69.
CMS will be back in action when it looks to defend its SCIAC Championship at East LA College from Feb. 19-22.
