Jett Advances to Finals in 100-Meter Hurdles at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio - Josephine Jett earned one of the nine spots in the finals for the 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. 

Jett ran a 14.03 in prelims, which was the sixth-best time in the field, easily advancing her into the nine-runner finals, which will take place on Saturday. Ren Brown of UChicago had the fastest prelim time of 13.75, while Jett finished above the top-nine cutline by a tenth of a second. 

Jett also competed in the 100 meters, but ended in 18th place with a time of 12.02. Sophia Laudi was in action in the javelin on Thursday and finished 18th place as well with a throw of 122'10" in her first NCAA event. 

For the Stags, Ellis DelVecchio and Pierce Clark were in the 800 meters, and DelVecchio was able to earn 14th place for second-team All-America honors, while Clark finished 20th, after qualifying for both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships. 

With a top-eight finish tomorrow, Jett will earn first-team All-America honors.The race will be held at 11 a.m. (Pacific time). The Stags will have Kaden Cassidy in action in the hammer throw, Colin Scanlon in the finals of the 400 hurdles, and 4x400 relay in action.
