RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - Samson Li, Logan Mills, Sebi Aliaga and Teddy Turo each had eagles during Tuesday's second round, as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team came back from third place after the first round to win The Clash at the Red Hill Country Club.

CMS finished at +5 over the two rounds, to win by three shots over Redlands at +8. The Stags came into the day in third, three shots behind La Sierra and one behind Willamette, but was able to pass both of those schools early on and then hold off a challenge from Redlands.

Li opened with an eagle on the first hole to help put CMS in front, and an eagle from Mills on the seventh hole put the Stags one shot ahead of Willamette. Redlands then had its surge around the turn to move into first place briefly, but Aliaga had an eagle on 12 to give CMS the lead to stay.

Turo then had a torrid birdie-birdie-eagle stretch on holes 12-14 to give CMS some separation, and Mills added birdies on No. 12 and No. 14. Redlands hung in late to try to come back, but Li had a key birdie on 17 to help CMS hold on.

Aliaga had a -1 in the first round on Monday, while Mills was +1, and Turo and Li were both +3. Turo ended at -3 on Tuesday to end at even par for the tournament, while Mills was -1.

CMS will be back in action in the spring when it tries to defend its national championship.
