CLAREMONT, Calif. - Samson Li of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week for events through Sunday, Feb. 15, the conference office announced today. 

Li tied a CMS record with a -8 (shooting a 64) to take first place and lead CMS to the team title at the West Coast Invite on Monday and Tuesday. Li ended the tournament at -10, winning by seven strokes, and had a stretch of 10 birdies in 14 holes in his final round on Tuesday.

Li's 64 tied Matt Shuman's 64 in the 2016 SCIAC Championships at -8, while Mason Chiu had a 63 on a par-70 course at the 2019 SCIAC Championships.

CMS will be back in action this weekend when it competes at SCIAC No. 1, which will be held at Olivas Links in Ventura.
