CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field opened up its 2026 season at home with the OIDFE Challenge and won six different events on Saturday afternoon at the Burns Track Complex.
Jaden Rattay won the 400 meters in 48.80, and then anchored the 4x400 relay to a comeback win in the final event of the day. The Stags also won the distance medley relay at the start of the day with
Matthew Jabro,
Jimmy Boyle,
Hayden Beauchemin and
Ferguson Wheeler earning a 10:57.08.
Jonas Rickert led a 1-2-3 finish for CMS in the mile, crossing in 4:16.91, while
Jacob Pippel was second in 4:22.77 and
Brennan Tobin was third in 4:24.62.
Rattay's 400 meter win also was part of a 1-4 finish for CMS, with
Oliver Thompson second,
Max Even third and
Richard Burrow coming in fourth.
Evan Siegel was the winner of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.61, while
Eric Filson was second at 9.02.
Kavin Prasanna took first in the weight throw with a distance of 54'2.5" (16.52 meters). Runner-up finishes for CMS included Boyle in the 1000 (2:42.84),
Ellis DelVecchio in the 800 (1:54.18),
Grady Johnson in the shot put (47'10"),
Diego Amescua in the pole vault (13'5.25"), Filson in the long jump (21'4.25") and
Colin Lakkaraju in the triple jump (43'5.25").
CMS will be back in action at the Whitworth Indoor Invitational next weekend, before returning outdoors for the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers Meet on Feb. 21.
