CLAREMONT, Calif. - Ten members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field team earned All-West Region honors for Indoor Track and Field season from the USFTCCCA, the organization announced today.
Josephine Jett, who will be in action this weekend at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 60-meter hurdles, and
Madeline Seifert each won all-region honors twice by having one of the top eight marks in the West Region. Jett earned it in the 60-meter dash in addition to the hurdles, and Seifert captured it in both the pole vault and long jump.
Hope Dragseth,
Elle Marsyla and
Sara Wexler were all-region winners in the 3000 meters for CMS.
Emily Ortiz captured it in the weight throw, and the 4x400 relay team of
Katie Cooper,
Luna Young,
Kaitlyn Creighton and
Shriya Velichala earned it as well.
The Athenas also had 10 honorees despite only competing in one indoor meet all season, which came at the Whitworth Invitational in February.
The full CMS team will be back in action this weekend when it participates in the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic on Saturday.
