CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Josephine Jett earned the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week for events through Sunday, March 8, and also earned a qualification to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama.
Jett earned the SCAIC honor for her outdoor performance, after running the fastest 100-meter time in Division III so far this season with a 12.05 to take first at the SCIAC Quad Cup and help CMS to the team title. She added a win in the 100 hurdles, where she also holds the top time in DIII so far this year (at Rossi Relays) and ran the second leg of the winning 4x100 relay.
The NCAA also announced its qualifications for the Division III Indoor Championships on Sunday evening, and Jett earned one of the 16 spots in the 60-meter hurdles. Jett was a second-team All-American in the 60-meter hurdles during indoor season last year, finishing ninth, and also won first-team All-America honors in the 100-meter hurdles during outdoor season, coming in sixth place.Â
Jett earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor for the second time this season, and sixth time in her career.
Sophia Laudi has also earned the SCIAC Field Athlete of the Week twice this season, and
Madeline Seifert has earned it once.Â
