CLAREMONT, Calif. - Carter Bennett of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team earned a spot on the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week for games through Sunday, March 22, the website announced today. 

Bennett was 8-for-15 (.533) with three homers in a 3-1 week for CMS. He drove in four runs in a non-conference win over Crown to close out the Tucson Invitational Games on Monday, and then had three more RBI in a series-opening win over Redlands. He also added a solo homer in the ninth with CMS down 5-3 in its only defeat of the week (5-4 in the middle game to Redlands).

It marks the second week in a row that the Stags have had a player on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, after Max Pemberton earned a spot on it last week following his 9-for-13 performance in the first four games of the Tucson Invitational. Pemberton has been the SCIAC Hitter of the Week for each of the last two weeks. 

CMS will be back in action this weekend for a three-game series with La Verne, beginning with a single game at La Verne on Friday followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, which will be held at Whittier.
