CLAREMONT, Calif. - Julia Ryan of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team earned second-team All-America draw control specialist honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine, the publication announced today.

Ryan currently ranks as the national leader in draw controls per game at 18.53 per contest, with nobody else in the nation even in double figures. Maihue Miranda Wiltberger of Pomona-Pitzer ranks second at 9.94, with Alena Catka of Neumann third at 9.22.

The national leader in Division I is Anna Viglione of Arizona State with 12.11, with Mae Murphy of Loyola second at 11.90. Lauren Parker of D'Youville leads Division II at 11.50 per contest.

Ryan already has broken the national record for career draw controls as only a junior with 892, more than 100 ahead of the previous record holders. Her 352 this season broke her own record of 346, set last year. Her single-game season high this year was 27, against both Bates and Redlands, while her career high of 31 was set last year against Occidental.

The IWLCA All-America teams will be announced next weekend before the national championships.
