She had a five-inning no-hitter in a win over Cal Lutheran, and a two-hit shutout in a win over Whittier among her top performance this season. A year ago, Adams was chosen to the All-SCIAC second team, and finished her career with 33 wins and 206 strikeouts, which ranks eighth and seventh in CMS history, respectively.
Lai split time between second base and center field this season and finished with a .351 batting average. She closed out the year with an 11-game hit streaks, and had hits in 18 of her last 19 contests (with the only exception an 0-for-1 day against Cal Lutheran with a walk and a sacrifice).
Robel became a regular in the starting line-up by the time conference season hit, and ended the year with a .341 average, three doubles and 15 RBI. Among her top performances were a 4-for-4 performance against Occidental, and a 3-for-4 performance in the season finale against La Verne. She also had seven RBI in the Cal Lutheran series.
CMS finished the season with a 19-17-1 record, including 10-11 in SCIAC. The Athenas will look to build off this year with Lai and Robel in the heart of the line-up next year, although Adams will need to be replaced as the ace of the pitching staff.
