Brooke McKee of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps volleyball team earned second-team All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the organization announced this morning.
McKee finished the season with 439 kills, which ranks second on the CMS all-time single-season list, while tallying a career-best 4.26 per set. She also finished the year with 288 digs and 67 aces, setting career-highs in both of those categories as well.
For her career, McKee ended fourth on the all-time CMS kills list with 1174, including 394 as a junior and 439 as a senior, which both rank in the top 10 on the single-season Athena chart. She also had 110 service aces in her last two seasons.
McKee led CMS to a 98-22 record over her four seasons, including an undefeated regular season as a first-year in 2022, and an appearance in the NCAA Semifinals at Roberts Pavilion as a sophomore in 2023.
McKee's highlights this season included a kill to fight off a La Verne match point in the SCIAC Championship, which enabled the Athenas to finish a comeback from a 2-0 deficit and win the league title, earning Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.
She also a 27-kill performance in a five-set NCAA win over Transylvania last season, including match point at 14-13 in the fifth. As a first-year, she recorded her only kill of the match off the bench on match point at 29-27 in the third set in an NCAA win over Texas-Dallas.
