CLAREMONT, Calif. - Lauren Staples of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps volleyball team earned the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor for matches through Sunday, Sept. 6, the conference office announced today. 

Staples hit .564 in three straight-set wins, and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team, as CMS swept three matches at the Pacific Coast Classic. For the week, she had 24 kills in 39 attempts with only two errors, including 10 kills in 16 attempts with no errors in a win over North Central on Saturday afternoon.

Staples also added 10 kills in 17 attempts in a win over Westminster to open the season on Friday evening, and capped off the week with four kills in six attempts against Lasell on Saturday evening. 

CMS will be back in action this weekend when it travels to Emory to take part in the East-West Battle, facing WashU, Colby, and East Texas Baptist over the two-day tournament.
