NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's cross country team earned 13th place against a loaded field of Division III competition at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday morning.
Hayden Beauchemin was the top finisher for CMS in 37th place with a time of 24:48.4, while
Jerry Xu (83rd),
Brennan Tobin (87th) and
Hale Behan (90th) all cracked the top 100 in a field of 264 runners.
Jacob Pippel (105) and
Jonas Rickert (108) finished just outside the top 100, while
Arnav Shetty was in 118th place for the Stags.
As a team, CMS finished with 390 points, ahead of Bates in 14th and Dickinson in 15th. Johns Hopkins took the team title with 96 points, followed by Tufts (111) and SUNY Geneso (118).
The Stags also sent a contingent of runners to the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational, where they came in 23rd place.
Rowan Haywood-O'Neill was the top Stag to cross the line in 138th place in 25:47.4, while
Charlie Routledge was right behind in 141st place in 25:48.8.
CMS will be back in action in two weeks for the SCIAC Championships, which will be hosted by Pomona-Pitzer on Nov. 1.
